Some thoughts on zoo photography   ~~following a visit to Paignton zoo~~ 1  The most interesting and photogenic animals will be behind glass. The glass will be much besmeared by the hands of a thousand visitors.  If the glass is clear someone with a stripy/brightly coloured tshirt will stand behind you and cast a reflection. 2  Animals not behind glass will             (A) stand immobile with their back to you.             (B) stand/lie as far away as their enclosure allows amo

Dammit, my awesome huge monitor has just died.   The spare has a mere fraction of the resolution - everything looks much less lovely and further away. Update: What the hell is it with these new fangled damn LCD monitor doodahs ??   I got a new 23" one. Every time I move slightly up or down the image darkens or lightens. WTF. I miss my old CRT. Bloody machines. (All this used to be fields...)
